CLARK-ROBERTSON ARTEFACT PROCESSING
Memories get caught in objects; things that, separated from the feelings of sentimentality, are useless or hold little value. Some memories take up large amounts of space. They cannot be enjoyed, mourned or remembered, packed away in boxes in the garage or on the top shelf of a spare bedroom.
CLARK-ROBERTSON ARTEFACT PROCESSING is a service that transforms the physical stuff of memories into unique, personalised artworks.
Artefacts are created through a process of (but not limited to) transforming, capturing, remaking, performing or condensing. The outcome may be digital or physical.
Artist Claire Clark-Robertson responds to the individual needs and situation of each client, working collaboratively with them to produce two identical artefacts; one for the client and one for the artists’s archive.
Client 01 - Processed memories of their childhood home. The final artefact is a puzzle that is inspired by Froebel's Gifts and made using materials from the home. Each section of the puzzle has multiple uses and represents the childhood play, creativity, community, and rituals experienced in the home.
